Ramona Mary (Fisher) Classen

With sadness we announce the death of Ramona Classen of Aspen Manor, Bethany Pioneer Village, Middle Lake on April 16, 2024. She was predeceased by her  parents Ray and Sophie ( nee Moorman) Fisher, her husband Jerome Classen (2006), her daughter Melanie (Don) Otsig (2006), her brother Clarence Fisher (2006) and brother Sylvester( in infancy). She is survived by her daughter, Brenda (Ray) Simmer of Saskatoon and their children Jason, Tara (son Archer) and Gillian (son Spencer) as well as Melanie’s children Chris and Laurie Otsig. Ramona was born in Bruno, SK where she attended elementary school and also St Ursula’s Academy for high school. She moved to St Gregor with her parents and brother where she worked in the Co-op store.  There she met and then married  Jerome Classen, August 9, 1948.  They also owned and operated grocery stores in Englefeld and Watson. In 1975 they moved to St Benedict where Jerome managed the Credit Union and later they retired into Humboldt.  Ramona was a member of the CWL and Christian Mothers. She enjoyed playing ball, curling, square dancing and was an avid card player. She was well known for her baking especially doughnuts, cinnamon buns and squares. Ramona enjoyed her membership in the Senior Centre in St Benedict and later in Humboldt.  In 2007 Ramona moved in to Aspen Manor where she enjoyed activities, outings, bingo, cards, socializing and entertainment.  Her family wishes to thank the Aspen Manor staff for their kind, patient and loving care of Ramona in her later years. In the 17 years she was there they also became her family.  The Funeral Service for Ramona will be held in the chapel of Malinoski & Danyluik Funeral Home, Humboldt on Saturday April 20, 2024 at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at St Gregory Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethany Pioneer Village, Aspen Manor, Middle Lake.
